Wiltshire Council bring legal challenge

Wiltshire Council has today (Wednesday 21 May) launched a legal challenge against the Planning Inspectorate's decision to allow an appeal and grant planning permission for residential development at Old Sarum Airfield.

Statement on recent conclusion of Public Inquiry regarding Old Sarum Airfield and the subsequent destruction by fire of Hangar 3.

As a Parish Council we are hugely disappointed with the decision to allow housing development on the airfield. This decision does not reflect local and national concerns about the impact on the heritage of this unique First World War site.

Hangar 3 Collapses following storm Isha

A planning application regarding the development of land at Old Sarum Airfield has been lodged with Wiltshire Planning Department. PL/2023/07368
